Srinagar, Apr 07 (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir government on Monday informed the Legislative Assembly that a proposal for Assured Career Progression (ACP) for 10+2 lecturers appointed through the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) is currently under active consideration.
The response was given to a question raised by MLA Ch. Vikram Randhawa during the ongoing session of the J&K Legislative Assembly.
According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), in response to concerns regarding stagnation and limited promotional avenues, the government clarified that 10+2 lecturers appointed through JKPSC are promoted to the post of Senior Lecturer with two advance increments.
Subsequently, they are elevated to the positions of Principals and their equivalents under Pay Level-10A (Rs 56,600–1,79,800), as per the rules. Eligible Principals are further promoted to the posts of Chief Education Officers or equivalent positions.
Regarding the demand for Functional Upgradation (NFU) or ACP on the lines of Assistant Surgeons, Dental and Veterinary Doctors, and ISM doctors, the School Education Department has proposed the introduction of ACP. The proposal was deliberated in the Establishment-cum-Selection Committee meeting held on June 5, 2024.
“A sub-committee was constituted by the General Administration Department (GAD) vide Government Order No. 1339-JK(GAD) of 2024 dated July 9, 2024, to examine the proposals of various departments. Additionally, an internal committee was constituted by the School Education Department vide Government Order No. 357-JK(Edu) of 2024 dated September 11, 2024, to further examine the matter,” the government stated, adding that the issue is currently under active consideration of the department—(KNO)
